The challenge.
The same consultation is delivered two entirely different ways: free at the point of use if your GP surgery is a partner, or paid privately if it is not. Mixing those into one journey confuses both audiences — NHS patients think they are being charged, private patients think they are ineligible.
What I did.
- 1
Split the site at the top level into 'For NHS' and 'For Private' so each visitor only ever sees the pathway that applies to them.
- 2
Added a partnered-surgery lookup so NHS patients can confirm eligibility before starting registration, rather than discovering it at the end.
- 3
Made the mobile app the primary conversion for repeat use, since consultations are booked from a phone far more often than a desktop.
- 4
Leaned on the credibility markers that matter in UK healthcare — first platform to offer smartphone video consultations, and part of the Square Health group.
What was built.
- NHS versus private pathway split from the homepage
- Partnered-surgery eligibility lookup
- Video consultation booking
- Prescription services
- iOS and Android applications
- Group-backed trust and compliance content
